Terms of Usage

Terms of Usage - Draft Unicode

Last modified: 27 Apr 2026

These Terms of Use (“TOU”) supplement and are incorporated into DraftUnicode’s Terms of Service (“TOS”). They set out specific rules governing how you may interact with and use the DraftUnicode platform on a day-to-day basis. Capitalised terms used but not defined herein bear the meanings given to them in the TOS or Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict between these Terms of Use and the TOS, the TOS shall prevail.

1. PERMITTED USE AND PLATFORM SCOPE

1.1 Purpose of the Service

The DraftUnicode platform is designed exclusively for the conversion of Gujarati legal documents (including court pleadings, affidavits, applications, and similar instruments) from supported source formats into target formats as specified on our website. The Service is a conversion utility and does not provide legal advice. All converted outputs are for reference and informational purposes only.

1.2 Supported Input Formats and Languages

The Service accepts documents only in valid, supported file formats (e.g. PDF) and in the Gujarati language using supported Gujarati Unicode or non-Unicode font sets as published on our website from time to time. Documents in unsupported formats, languages, or fonts will be rejected by the system. Conversions using unsupported fonts may produce inaccurate or incomplete output, and DraftUnicode accepts no liability for such inaccuracies. It is your responsibility to verify that your document meets the current input requirements before uploading.

2. ACCOUNT AND CREDENTIAL RULES

2.1 Personal and Non-Transferable Accounts

Your DraftUnicode account is personal to you and created for your sole use. You may not share, sell, transfer, assign, or otherwise make your account, login credentials, or subscription available to any other individual or entity. If you are an organisational subscriber, each individual user within your organisation who requires access to the Service must use their own separately registered account. Unauthorised sharing of accounts constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension.

2.2 Account Security Obligations

You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must use a strong, unique password for your DraftUnicode account and must not reuse passwords from other services. You must enable any multi-factor authentication options we make available when prompted. If you suspect a breach of your account security, you must notify us immediately at info@draftunicode.com and change your password.

3. CREDITS: USAGE, EXPIRY, AND CARRY-FORWARD

3.1 Credit Consumption

Credits are granted to users considering one (1) credit is equivalent to one page of text content with no images in the file as this supports only text conversion. Here one page is equivalent to text content of less than 300 words in specific language and fonts. The table content will be converted and presented back in tabular format and will consume extra credits as the page count increases, hence document containing one page consumes one credit and in case of multiple pages it consumes more than one credit depending upon size and number of pages.

A “conversion request” means a single submission of a document with single or multiple pages which will utilize credits as mentioned above. Each submission is treated as an independent request irrespective of whether you have previously submitted the same document. Re-conversion of the same file for any reason (including correction of source errors or re-processing) constitutes a new request and will deduct the applicable Credits from your balance.

3.2 Credit Expiry

Credits are allocated on a per-subscription-term basis and expire at 23:59 IST on the last day of your current subscription term. Expired Credits are forfeited and are not redeemable for cash or credit.

3.3 Carry-Forward on Early Renewal

If you renew your subscription before the expiry of your current term, any Credits remaining in your account at the time of renewal will automatically carry forward to your new subscription term. Carry-forward Credits do not increase the Credits allocated under your new plan; they are added to the fresh Credit allocation of the renewed plan, subject to a maximum carry-forward cap as stated in your plan details.

3.4 Credit Balance Disputes

If you believe your Credit balance has been incorrectly deducted, you must raise a dispute within seven (7) days of the transaction by contacting support at info@draftunicode.com with the relevant transaction details. We will investigate all reasonable disputes and, where an error is confirmed, credit the appropriate amount to your account.

4. SUBSCRIPTION FEES: NON-REFUNDABLE POLICY

All subscription fees paid to DraftUnicode are strictly non-refundable. No refunds, credits, or compensations are provided for: (a) subscription periods that were partially used; (b) Credits that expired unused; (c) downgraded plan changes effective mid-cycle; or (d) service interruptions of a temporary nature. This policy applies regardless of the reason for non-use. DraftUnicode may, at its sole discretion, make an exception in extraordinary circumstances, but the exercise of such discretion on any individual occasion creates no precedent or right on your part to any future refund.

5. CONTENT STANDARDS AND PROHIBITED UPLOADS

5.1 Lawful Content Only

You may only upload User Content that you own or have all necessary rights to process, and that complies fully with applicable law. In particular, you warrant that your User Content: (a) does not infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property right; (b) does not contain defamatory, abusive, hateful, or harassing material; (c) does not constitute or facilitate fraudulent or forged legal instruments; (d) does not contain pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit material; and (e) does not contain malware, spyware, or any code designed to disrupt or damage any system.

5.2 Legal Instruments and Authenticity

Because the DraftUnicode platform is intended for use by legal professionals and litigants, you represent that any legal instrument you submit for conversion is authentic, is not forged or fabricated, and is intended for legitimate legal proceedings or reference. Use of the Service to produce fraudulent court documents or to facilitate any form of legal fraud is strictly prohibited and may be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

5.3 Compliance with Court Rules

While DraftUnicode assists with document formatting and conversion, it does not guarantee compliance with any specific court’s procedural rules, practice directions, or formatting requirements. You remain solely responsible for ensuring that any document submitted to a court or tribunal meets all applicable procedural requirements. We strongly recommend that all converted documents be reviewed by a qualified qualified legal professional before submission.

6. CONVERTED OUTPUT: REFERENCE ONLY AND NO LEGAL ADVICE

All documents produced by the DraftUnicode platform (“Converted Output”) are provided for reference and informational purposes only. DraftUnicode does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legal compliance of any Converted Output. Converted Output should be independently verified and reviewed by a qualified legal professional before use in any official, judicial, or administrative proceeding. DraftUnicode is not a law firm and the provision of the Service does not constitute the practice of law or the provision of legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.

7. ACCOUNT DEACTIVATION AND DATA UPON EXPIRY

Upon expiry of your subscription (whether through cancellation, non-renewal, or termination), your account will be automatically deactivated. Following deactivation: (a) you will lose access to the platform immediately; (b) any remaining Credits will be forfeited; and (c) any User Content stored in connection with your account will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule (within seven (7) days of the last upload, or upon account closure, whichever is earlier). DraftUnicode is not responsible for any loss of data resulting from account expiry. You should download all Converted Output you wish to retain prior to account expiry.

10. FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS

If you provide DraftUnicode with any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or recommendations regarding the Service (“Feedback”), you grant DraftUnicode a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, incorporate, and commercialize the Feedback in any manner and for any purpose without any obligation, compensation, or attribution to you. You represent that your Feedback does not violate any third-party rights.
